King Justice Ake Dem

My Name is Foday Justice A. Kamara. Known as (King Justice Ake Dem) I was born in a place

called no. 5 Semetary Road Congo Town. in Freetown, Sierra Leone. I was with a group called:

Hard Soul Niggaz. I started music when I was Eleven in 1992. I got my first hit single at Island

Studio compilation vol. 1, titled (Judgment day). It was done in 2001. My second hit single is about

HIV/AIDS, a deadly scare and I entitled the song as (AIDS Dae), which simply means Aids is all

around. it was given to the public as an advice, it was that song that prompt GTZ International

services to give me a contract to work out five sensitization songs for them. One is about gender-

based violence, another HIV/AIDS, also environmental protection" another on child’s right and the

last was prevention on the proliferation of small arms. And it was successful. My third hit single was

recorded in studio J titled (tolong-tolong). This time I paid the studio fee myself. And it was

included in studio J compilation vol. 1. Through this stretch of achievement so far, I find it

necessary to create my own album. Through this venture, I became well l known in the musical

field. I can sing all types of music, as I am a music composer, teacher and director in other musical

groups. Through a lot of commendations, I was the iEARN (P. M. P. Positive Music Project) music

Director in 2007. I knew that I have done a remarkable effort, a brilliant job, and formidable effort

at iEARN Sierra Leone music club; which is music to make a positive change and sets me apart as

an inspiration to many youth. I see music as a vehicle of expression that allows me to reach people

and communicate to them in a unique way. I know that as a youth leader, a musician, I have a

special role to play in society to change things more positively. I depend on my own creative ability

to bring attention to many social justice issues, be it on children's hunger, wars and violence,

HIV/AIDS, teenage pregnancy, the environment etc. I believe that apart from reaching out to

others and making friends through my song, I see a lot of young people revolve and have their

talents spotlighted in a way that is promotional and that makes me look back and feel a great

sense of personal satisfaction. But what makes me feel more better is to hear that society has

changed because of my lyrics...I feel that as young people, we all have a role to play in making the

world a better place. I know that we have a responsibility as youth too to become the powerful

force to change. This means that our talents, our God-given gifts must be utilized in a way that can

be an inspiration to others as well as a contribution to society. To tell you more facts, people are

now urging me to launch my album, as some are asking me; 'When are you going to launch'? This

is because of my music performances they used to see on the TV in Sierra Leone and those many

gingles and songs of mine they listen on the national radio. I want to move on and see where my

music will go internationally as well as make friends through my songs. my fans are mostly

children and youth who have faced hardship as a result of war, violence, or those whom I have

advocated for through my songs over the years. Well, this will spark off communication I guess.

Thanks and may God bless you.
